About Dr Khan

Dr Fatima Khan completed her undergraduate Medical Degree at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2008. She then pursued her Medical Internship at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital and proceeded to do her community service at Leratong Hospital. During those 3 years, she displayed keen interest and developed a passion for Internal Medicine. Dr Khan selected Internal Medicine as the discipline in which to further her studies. Fatima completed her training in Internal Medicine in 2011 through Wits University, and worked at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital, and Helen Joseph Hospital during this time. Thereafter she assumed employment at a private nephrology practice in Johannesburg in 2015, based at the Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre, and a few hospitals in the East Rand.

Subsequent to this Dr Khan undertook a three-year fellowship in Nephrology through Wits University. She trained at the Helen Joseph Hospital, Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre and Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital. Whilst training, Fatima developed an interest in autoimmune mediated kidney diseases, and transplant nephrology.

She successfully completed her certificate in Nephrology in 2018, and has been practising at Life Kingsbury Hospital since 2019.
